Overview

Although ICANN has various programs aimed at increasing the participation of developing countries in its activities, the ICANN community is yet to have a comprehensive review of, and dialog on the role of developing countries in the organization. For this reason, an ICANN Summit on Developing Countries (ISDC) is being planned to be held during the Oct. 2011 ICANN 42 meeting in Dakar, Senegal. Toward this end, a preparatory meeting will be held in Singapore to bring together stakeholders from the ICANN community to discuss details about the ISDC. Among these details are:

  1. the format of the Summit
  2. resource persons to prepare the Discussion Papers
  3. constitution of a Summit Organizing Committee (SOC)
  4. a work plan for the preparation of the Summit

Who Should Attend?
The meeting is open to the public, although SOs and AC were invited to each send two official representatives to the meeting.
